It's been the Monday-est Tuesday ever 🤪 so TELL It's been the Monday-est Tuesday ever 🤪 so TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD! Drop a little spot of joy, a joke, a show/book you've been loving... whatever!...as long as it's positive!
.
I'll start! I recently spoke with another mom in the neighborhood about having her high school-age daughter babysit for us so we can have date nights more regularly. That might not sound like much, but we haven't really had anyone babysit the kids besides our parents (at first because they were our only approved babysitters through foster care, then because of the pandemic, and more recently because difficult behaviors made it feel like we "couldn't" or "shouldn't"), but it is something I'm excited about starting in the near future ❤️
Friday nights look a lot different than they used Friday nights look a lot different than they used to 😆 I am very much already in bed...about to read and probably crash too soon!

I recently read Love & Olives -- a YA contemporary by Jenna Evans Welch. This book is a journey — a transportive and unexpectedly emotional story about trying to find something that was once thought to be lost. I really enjoyed this one! Read my full review on the blog <link in bio>
I was filling out our paper calendar today through I was filling out our paper calendar today through the end of the year, and the start of school date hit me a little harder than usual because, for the first time, I will be starting a kid on their school journey with Mia beginning Kindergarten this year! Hayden was at the end of his 2nd grade year when he was placed with us, so school with him always felt different.
.
Who knew adding things to the calendar would hit me so hard in the feels!?!!
One of these days, I'll finish all the little thin One of these days, I'll finish all the little things that still need to be done in my library, but it's my favorite place in the house, regardless 🤗

This past weekend was wildly exhausting, so I'm calling it a really early night. I'm off to read and probably crash hard!
Two years ago today, we officially became a family Two years ago today, we officially became a family, so we spent the day celebrating the kids' adoptions with friends and family ❤️
.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again -- adoption is bittersweet. One family (in our case, two families) has to be broken in order to make another whole. I have also always been very open about our struggles. Even after all this time, we are still trying to find our footing as a family. But, we will always be happy to celebrate Hayden, Mia & Emma joining our family. They might not always...and that's okay!
I devoured this book! I was all set to give it a 5 I devoured this book! I was all set to give it a 5-star rating until SOMETHING (not just 1, but 3 of the same somethings 😳) happened in the last 15 or so percent of that book 🤦🏼‍♀️ I only knocked .5 off my star rating for that, though, and still really loved the book! Abby is great at putting you on an emotional roller-coaster...also her author's note 🥺
