Blogmas #1: I decided that I’d like to participate in #Blogmas this year with very little knowledge of what it’s about and absolutely zero planning. Clearly, considering my first post is coming your way on December 4th, I’m off to a stellar start!
I won’t lie… my purchase of How to Hang a Witch by Adriana Mather was wholly influenced by Instagram! Because of that, I didn’t really have grand expectations for it, although I hoped for a decent seasonal read. So, to say that I was blown away is probably an understatement. I read this book at the perfect time of year — the end of October! With the setting of Salem, the background of the witch trials, and the Descendants making up the perfect cast of dark characters that you’ll love to hate (well… mostly), it was so hard to put How to Hang a Witch down. I had to know where the plot was going to lead next.
HAPPY BOOK BIRTHDAY to Constant by Rachel Higginson! Constant, a second chance romantic suspense that is the first book in a duet, was released today (November 16, 2017) by Reckless Siren Publishing, and I’ve got a sneak peek for you!
Sometimes, I need a good old fashioned kick in the butt by a decent book in a genre that I do actually enjoy but don’t pick up nearly enough to make me realize that reading a variety of books is GOOD for me. The Extraditionist (out 11/1/17) by Todd Merer was a solid of my love of thrillers.
There are SO MANY book releases that I am looking forward to in the coming weeks… months… year… that I feel like I will never be in short supply of anticipated reads! For this waiting on Wednesday, I thought I’d stick with the near future with Rachel Higginson’s Constant, releasing November 16th.
What do you get when a bookworm plans a wedding? Well, I can tell you what THIS bookworm did when I planned my recent wedding. I just got married at the end of September, and I wanted to share a little of my story.
Although I am clearly not in the target audience for Middle Grade literature, I do enjoy it! I was excited when approached with the opportunity to read the StarPassage saga. The premise of this story is really entertaining! There is a good combination of time travel, history, and faith, which made for a fun but meaningful tale.
Simply speaking, some books are worth the hype…An Enchantment of Ravens is one of them! An Enchantment of Ravens is a divine piece of writing. Margaret Rogerson’s first novel is completely masterful and full of whimsy. Rogerson 100% won me over with her writing!
Girls Made of Snow and Glass is a masterfully written spin on the tale of Snow White. This is a story of how the lives of the queen and the princess, a mother and a daughter, are less perfect than they seem.
It probably isn’t a huge surprise that I am anticipating the release of Dreamer, book 2 in the Traveler series by L.E. DeLano. Traveler has a 4-star rating by me on Goodreads, and I did a cover reveal for Dreamer here on the blog.
