It’s hard to believe it’s 2019! Where did 2018 go?!
I’ve spent the last few weeks thinking about my year of reading. Here are a few of my thoughts/observations:
- I finished 132 books which is 57 more books than in 2017, but I also added audiobooks to the mix.
- There are a lot of books that I read in 2018 that I couldn’t tell you much about.
- I read WAY more romances than I have in a long time, and I’m quite happy about that!
It’s always hard to choose favorites! However, I finally decided on my top 3 reads that were released in 2018; one from each of the genres I read most frequently. Here we go:
NOT SO NICE GUY by R.S. Grey
In Jim-and-Pam style, Ian has always liked Sam, and Sam has always had feelings for Ian too, but is afraid of ruining their friendship. Years of repressed feelings are hard to hide though, when their co-workers realize they haven’t actually been dating all along and all bets are off. Not So Nice Guy is a hilarious friends-to-lovers story between two school teachers that are utterly sweet while bringing the smolder.
STARRY EYES by Jenn Bennett
Zorie and Lennon are neighbors who used to do everything together. After last year’s homecoming, everything changed and the distance between them grew when they probably needed each other most. When a camping trip goes wrong, Zorie and Lennon are forced to spend a couple days together alone in the Northern California wilderness. Starry Eyes weaves a tale of former-best-friends-turned-enemies-turned-lovers with family and friend drama scattered throughout.
KINGDOM OF ASH by Sarah J. Maas
In an epic conclusion to the series, Aelin, Dorian, and the rest of the stellar cast of characters journey and battle to try to save the world and each other. Kingdom of Ash wraps up the Throne of Glass saga with a heroic and heart breaking adventure that was perfectly imperfect to me.
What do you think? What are your favorite reads from last year?
Keep an eye out for my upcoming post sharing my thoughts and goals looking ahead at 2019!
