BOOK REVIEW: BONE MUSIC (BURNING GIRL #1) BY CHRISTOPHER RICE

Bone Music, for me, was many things -- intriguing, fierce, suspenseful, but also not what I was expecting.  This book is considered a blend of a superhero origin story and a thriller.

Monday 😣 It might not have been so bad had it not been for the allergy overload! Curse you grass & trees & pollen ✊ . Have you read this series, yet? I've had these books for a while, but like so many other books, they have been sitting on my TBR 😞 With all the excitement I've seen over the latest release, I might have to pick it up sooner rather than later 💙 . If you're a fan, though, might I recommend this awesome print & bookmark <swipe to see> by @drawntothepages ?! 😘 I love how fierce this design is! Use my code WILD10 to save at drawntothepages.com (direct link to the shop in the Link Tree in my bio). _________________________ #shatterme #taherehmafi #yalit #tbr #read #ReadersofIG #ilovereading #ireadya #booklove #coverlove #drawntothepages #artprint #bookmark #bookishmerch #bookish #bookquotes #bookworm #bookaholic ##bookshelf #booknookstagram #bookphotography #vscobooks #bookstack
I was so happy to be part of the release blitz & blog tour for NEEDING HIM by the lovely @kennedyfoxbooks 💕 Both posts are on my blog, the second of which went live yesterday & includes my review! Follow the link in the Link Tree in my bio to check it out 😘 . This is an Adult Contemporary Romance with a little southern drama 🤠 NEEDING HIM is book #2 in the Bishop Brothers Series, a series of standalones, and I absolutely recommend it! . SYNOPSIS: Evan Bishop is your typical hotshot doctor. Hardass, brooding, and all business. Instead of working on the family ranch, Evan broke the mold and became an ER doctor. He’s good with his hands—in more ways than one—smart as a whip and is the definition of God’s gift to women. Being a gentleman is in his Southern roots, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t flawed. Exclusive dating has never been a top priority and his tragic past makes him stay at arm’s length. Deciding to let loose for a wild night, he takes a page from the Bishop brother’s relationship book and hooks up with a mysterious girl he’ll never have to see again, which is perfect for this self-proclaimed bachelor. Emily Bell is a city girl through and through but is determined to get away from her family and past. All she wants is a fresh start and to make a name for herself in the medical field. No random hookups and no dating coworkers—that’s her new motto after being burned time and again. When she agrees to attend a wedding as a plus-one, she’s soon ditched and left to drink solo—but not for long. Mr. Suit is the ultimate temptation with his Southern charm, messy blond hair, and irresistible sex appeal. Everything about him screams bad news, but he makes her reconsider her rules just for one night. After all, some rules are made to be broken. They want the same thing—one night of passion then they’ll go their separate ways. No cuddling afterward. No next day phone calls. No awkward goodbyes. Too bad the universe has other plans—one that’ll be obvious when they report to work on Monday morning. . . . Special thanks to @inkslingerpr & @kennedyfoxbooks for providing me with an early copy for review.
Guys! I'm lost down the rabbit hole that is the Outlander fandom 😣😂😍 HOW. DID. THIS. HAPPEN!?! I largely blame @lovelybookishuniverse & @fictionallyfloral 🤣 Good thing I love them! . Bookish companies are feeding my habit, including @bubbleandgeek & @bookishstardesigns 💙 Claire is one of the favorite scents at bubble-and-geek.com (we're talking top 2), and I LOVE this large Outlander-themed mug rug from Bookish Star Designs! I've got discount codes to both shops and direct links in the Link Tree in my bio if you, too, feel the need to own ALL THE OUTLANDER THINGS 😉 . <swipe for another pic> ____________________________ #bubbleandgeek #bookishstardesigns #bookish #bookishcandle #fandom #candlegram #candle #mugrug #outlander #dianagabaldon #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookblogger #blogginglife #bookworm #bibliophile #booknerd #ilovereading #booknookstagram #vscobooks #cozy #bookstagramit #nerdypost
I need to somehow subtly urge publishers to use pretty colors, such as these, more often on book covers! I own a ridiculous amount of black and white books! I love an aesthetically pleasing book, though 😉 . What's your favorite color book or book color you own the most? _________________________ #yalit #yacontemporary #yafantasy #reading #coverlove #bookspines #bookstack #stackingupsaturday #stacksaturday #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookblogger #bookworm #booknerdigans #readinglife #booklover #igreads #instabooks #bookgram #bookphotography #vscobooks #pursuepretty #bookaesthetic
I got in a random mood this week to pick up contemporaries 🤷‍♀️ Sometimes, it hits me out of nowhere to read a certain genre! I just finished SIMON VS. THE HOMOSAPIEN AGENDA this morning -- I loved it 🤗 I thought about picking up FOOLISH HEARTS or the ARC of Shani Petroff's upcoming release next 🤔 Any YA Contemporary recommendations? . This bath bomb seemed perfect, despite it actually being the Heart of Davy Jones by @fairytalebathco ❤😂 There was just a restock yesterday & some items are left at fairytalebathco.com (direct link to the shop in the Link Tree in my bio). Use my code WILD to save 😘 P.S. swipe for a demo! _________________________ #fairytalebathco #bathbomb #bathtime #bathandbody #piratesofthecaribbean #selfcare #treatyoself #pamperyourself #tubtime #heart #foolishhearts #emmamills #yalit #yacontemporary #bookstack #stackingupsaturday #stacksaturday #coverlove #readandrelax #read #readersofinstagram #tbr #bookphotography #vscobooks #igreads
What are you currently reading? I am hoping to finish ATLAS FALLEN by @jessicapiercebooks soon 🤗 Guys, I know I'm not done with it, yet, but I already want to recommend this book! ...especially for those that love strong female leads & sci-fi! . ATLAS FALLEN releases on the 24th! Any US resident who purchases either the e-book, hardback, or paperback copy can email their proof of purchase to jessicapiercebooks@gmail.com to receive a swag pack including a character magnetic bookmark, signed bookplate, and this gorgeous art print of Tesla, the kick-butt main character of the book! . SYNOPSIS⤵️ One space station. One throne. And the girl who holds the key. Tesla Petrov, daughter of an infamous traitor, no longer lives a life of promise in the Atlas space station's elite flight training program. Stripped of her military rank and banished to the slums, she now scrapes out a brutal existence competing in illegal robot fights for Minko, ruthless leader of the Red Ashes crime syndicate. But when a wrong move costs her a fight—and a fortune—for the crime lord, Tesla knows her days aboard the Atlas are numbered. Daxton LaRose isn't just visiting the station to celebrate the Centennial of the Crown—he's hunting a terrorist threatening to end a century of peace on Earth. To do so, he’ll need someone who knows the station. Someone willing to strike a deal at any cost. Someone like Tesla. But as the hunt for the terrorist uncovers dangerous secrets from both their pasts, Tesla and Daxton realize that nothing, and no one, is what it seems. . . . There's a direct link to add ATLAS FALLEN on @goodreads in the Link Tree in my bio 💖 Special thanks to the author for gifting me an eARC for review! __________________________ #longlivethecrown #atlasfallen #jessicapierce #scifi #reading #bookrec #anticipatedreads #ereader #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookblogger #bloggergirl #bookworm #booknerd #bibliophile #bookish #igreads #instabooks #bookphotography #vscobooks #booknookstagram
