MIDWEEK ME TIME: 8/2/17

Let me start off by saying TGIW (thank goodness it’s WEDNESDAY)!  I know, I know…who gets excited for Wednesday!?!  The answer is me, but only because I really enjoy Midweek Me Time!
In case you missed my previous posts (backtrack and check them out if you want), Midweek Me Time is my Wednesday ritual because I came to the realization that I spend way too much time online and on social media and not enough time on myself.  Midweek Me Time is a dedicated evening to unplugging and unwinding; essentially I read and relax!  I decide what goes (usually an at-home spa night plus major reading), but the main focus is to give myself a night off from all things digital.
I skipped my Midweek Me Time last week due to a lot of family coming into town, but I am eager for a night offline.  Seriously, Wednesdays have become another time of the week that I look forward to thanks to Midweek Me Time, and I encourage you all to join in with me each Wednesday.  Share your own experiences in the comments!
Why do I do a blog post and bookstagram feature if I am supposed to be offline, you ask?!  Well, first, I pre-write my posts, so I can start the relaxing as soon as I am home from work (that includes pre-recording my bookstagram stories, as well).  Second, I want to highlight my current read and some of the bookish products I plan to use to help me enjoy the evening.
So, without further adieu…

I am currently reading The Crowns of Croswald by D.E. Night, which released July 21, 2017. Special thanks to D.E. Night and JKS Communications for providing me with a copy of this book to read and review.
SYNOPSIS:
In Croswald, the only thing more powerful than dark magic is one secret…
For sixteen years Ivy Lovely has been hidden behind an enchanted boundary that separates the mundane from the magical. When Ivy crosses the border, her powers awaken. Curiosity leads her crashing through a series of adventures at the Halls of Ivy, a school where students learn to master their magical blood and the power of Croswald’s mysterious gems. When Ivy’s magic––and her life––is threatened by the Dark Queen, she scrambles to unearth her history and save Croswald before the truth is swept away forever.
(Goodreads)
I am about 50 pages into The Crowns of Croswald, so far, and I am excited to see how things play out.  This book is giving me a lot of Harry Potter vibes, which is not a bad thing!  There is mystery, magic and intrigue.  This book seems to have a lot of potential!  I feel like I might be able to knock this out tonight because it is a Middle Grade book, so it is a fairly easy read.  Is this on your TBR?
It is a really nice day, so I plan to read outside for a little while.  It has been raining a LOT recently, so I like to enjoy the back deck while I can.
Later, I plan to hop in the tub to relax, and I have the perfect combo of bookish products to pair with my read:
One of my favorite bookish companies is Nox to Lumos Candle Co.  I adore its owner, and I have thoroughly enjoyed every one of my candle purchases to-date from here.  Jessie does chunk candles, and they are beautiful!  Tonight, I am going to use my Hogwarts Castle candle.  It has a sweet, delicious scent and it a gorgeous purple color.  The Crowns of Croswald has a school called the Halls of Ivy, and I thought another magical school-themed candle would be fitting.  Trust me when I say you guys NEED to check out Nox to Lumos!
Raise your hand if you love bath bombs! *ME ME ME* I am a huge fan of All of the Book Things on Etsy.  Delaney has some amazing bath products, including the Velaris Nightlife bath bomb that I am going to use tonight.  The colors of this bath bomb match the colors in my book cover, and I have been looking forward to using this product since I got it.  It’s almost too pretty to use, though!  Have you checked out this shop, yet?
You can’t see it, but I want to give a shoutout to Little Inklings Design for my ‘I LoveBooks’ bookmark!  It, like the bath bomb, happens to match my book cover.  I love Megan’s bookmarks!
I linked the bookstagrams and Etsy shops above, so give them a follow, and consider supporting their small businesses.
So, now is about the time that I am going to completely sign offline and RELAX!  I hope you take a little time for you, too! xo
