I am so excited to kick off a new weekly Wednesday feature:  Midweek Me Time!  Like most people, I get stressed out and by Wednesday, I just need a break.  I decided to carve out a little time just for myself to read and relax.  Aside from a brief share related to the Midweek Me Time blog post, I plan to step away from social media for the evening, too.  Sometimes you just need to turn life off for a little while.

I got the idea for Midweek Me Time after cleaning one day.  Guys, I have a bookish bath product obsession (the first step is admitting you have a problem. right?!)!  From bath bombs to sugar scrubs; body washes to bath salts.  What better way to showcase those shops than this?!  A little at-home spa night, catching up on my current read, maybe a little wine…I guess we will see where this leads! I don’t plan on writing really lengthy blog posts for it, but I would like to be able to feature the products I plan to use that evening and share what I am currently reading.  If I decide to do something, like go to the bookstore or take a walk at the park down the road, I might write a little about that, too, but the general idea is to share then unhook so I can unwind.

I hope you check in with me each week 🙂 Also check out my Bookstagram stories and my Wednesday evening photo each week because it will all tie back to my Midweek Me Time.

Now, for tonight…

I am not going to lie, this is a good night to begin Midweek Me Time!  I work for a law firm, and work can become hectic.  I haven’t felt rested in a while and feel a little overwhelmed at the office.  I already poured myself a glass of wine, and I even convinced my fiance to cook us dinner 😀  I went with a bit of a theme for tonight based on the ARC that I am reading because I’m cheesy like that 😛

Side note:  When I first started this blogging/bookstagram adventure, I figured it would be a long time before I was approved for ARCs because I had no followers, but I thought I’d request a few through Netgalley anyway.  I was ridiculously excited when I was approved for my first (and only, so far) ARC.

I am currently reading Coming Up for Air by Miranda Kenneally, which releases July 4, 2017.

Swim. Eat. Shower. School. Snack. Swim. Swim. Swim. Dinner. Homework. Bed. Repeat.

All of Maggie’s focus and free time is spent swimming. She’s not only striving to earn scholarships—she’s training to qualify for the Olympics. It helps that her best friend, Levi, is also on the team and cheers her on. But Levi’s already earned an Olympic try out, so she feels even more pressure to succeed. And it’s not until Maggie’s away on a college visit that she realizes how much of the “typical” high school experience she’s missed by being in the pool.

Not one to shy away from a challenge, Maggie decides to squeeze the most out of her senior year. First up? Making out with a guy. And Levi could be the perfect candidate. After all, they already spend a lot of time together. But as Maggie slowly starts to uncover new feelings for Levi, how much is she willing to lose to win?

The reason I requested this ARC was because I grew up a competitive swimmer, and I still have ties to the sport because my brother-in-law coaches for Texas A&M’s Men’s Swim Team and has coached Olympic swimmers.  I am looking forward to getting further into this book!

I picked out a candle and bath bomb for tonight, and I hope you’ll check out these shops:

  • Some of my favorite booksta-buddies live across the pond and own an Etsy shop!  Emily and Sophie-Leanne are co-owners of Tale Times Lit.  I adore their bookstagram accounts, and I absolutely loved my first order from their shop!  They make candles and bookmarks, and Emily has been working on another little business, too (book sleeves!!!).

Tonight, I am trying out my Neverland candle for the first time.  It has a tropical, floral scent, and I thought it paired well with my read.  The girls describe it as a “floral body and a musky powdery background with a hint of sweet fruits and pixie dust.”  It is such a pretty candle, I almost hate to burn it!  They have absolutely gorgeous labels; don’t you think!?!

  • Another bookstagrammer raved about Meghan’s products from Nerdie Nifties so much that I decided to order some bookmarks and bath bombs, and I am glad I did.  Going well with the Neverland candle, I chose the Mermaid bath bomb from Nerdie Nifties for tonight.  The pretty blue and green colors remind me of a little earth, and it smells like salted sea spray (so good).

I linked the girls’ bookstagrams and their Etsy shops above, so give them a follow, and consider supporting their small businesses.

So, now is about the time that I am going to completely sign offline and RELAX!  I hope you take a little time for you, too! xo
